We are facing an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.
The planet is in ecological crisis, we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown.
The latest IPCC report and Tuesday’s Living Planet report by WWF, which reveals that wildlife populations have declined by more than half in less than 50 years, show how urgently change is needed.
Extinction Rebellion aims to support and encourage a citizens uprising in the UK (of about 2 million people) involving low level and higher risk acts of civil disobedience by some (with others willing to support those that take actions).
You are invited to come and collectively watch the film “Heading for extinction and what to do about it”, a talk given by Stroud’s Dr Gail Radbrooke with an introduction and informal chat afterwards given by members of Extinction Rebellion.
