Mosaic Heart Workshop

with Penny Scott

on Sunday January 27th from 2-6pm

You really don’t need to be an artist to enjoy the art of mosaic! Come along and spend a relaxing few hours learning basic cutting and laying skills and take home a beautiful hanging heart to keep or give as a gift.

Grouting will be demonstrated, and grout provided, so you can finish your pieces at home. This gives maximum time for you to work on your mosaics during the workshop and also allows necessary drying time.

Suitable for beginners or those with some experience. Everything you need will be supplied including reference books for inspiration. There will be a small charge on the day for materials

Once you book the workshop, Penny will be in touch with details of how to get the most from your day

The workshop includes refreshments

About Penny:

“I stumbled across mosaicking quite by accident when I needed some respite from the world and it has proved to be one of the best things I have done.
I  have always been artistic,  dabbling in lots of different mediums over the years.  I’m also a keen DIYer and mosaic almost feels like a combination of the two. I love the process of planning and drawing out a design and picking colours and textures from all the materials boxes and jars in the studio. I particularly like cutting and shaping whatever I am using and putting it all together. More often than not, I draw onto the tiles before cutting as I like to work precisely. I have often tried to ‘work big’ but I usually end up with small detailed pieces….it’s been a source of annoyance in the past but I have come to accept that it’s just my style”
